Looking forward to our screening today! 😀 Can't wait to see it and the follow up Q&A! The Activities for Daily Living Center is so grateful to be collaborating with Spellers Freedom Foundation and Empowered Voices to bring this film to the parents, caregivers and the professionals! The most exciting part is that we're getting lots of professionals- and we need them to get on board to get this into schools everywhere. Parents are driving professionals to see this film, and with the CME's available- how can they resist? Our children are truly miraculous! #revolutionaries

Read the book, screen the film and let the revolution begin!

I'm now mum of two non speakers new to S2C, thanks to a mama bear (on Fakebook) who posted Del's interview that you had with Jamie. I watched the Spellers documentary three times and it still makes me cry.

Ground breaking methods are often swept under the rug or kept in the shadows (and we all know why) but, no more.

I will do everything to keep screening momentum going, plus encourage practitioners in the UK.

Just watched the movie for a third time. I was first exposed to spelling when my 18 year old son was first diagnosed in 2008, I was a skeptic. Flash forward to 2019 when a friend, Susan Robbins nonspeaking son Mitchell Robbins presented at a Taca meeting, I was beyond curious. 2021 came along and I stumbled upon Underestimated. I read it and was blown away and started S2c with Dawn Marie. I am beyond grateful for all who contributed to the movie and made it a reality. Presuming competence was the greatest gift that emerged as a result taking action and starting. The movie and stories of other nonspeakers gives me hope and encouragement to keep moving forward. Thank you so much to everyone who played a part in the production and promotion of this phenomenal story of giving a voice to nonspeakers. I am confident that it will impact the greater population and inspire other parents to just try it.

I am hosting an on demand screening in order to accommodate people who cannot make it to an in-person or a virtual event at one specific time. I can hardly wait for more people to learn about this incredible opportunity for nonspeakers to finally have the ability to communicate.

“This misguided and uninformed mantra is typically a reflection of ignorance or political loyalty to a particular model than true scientific inquiry.”

So well said and such a pervasive human tendency.

JB, The film is tremendous! The reality of these people being not only so misunderstood, but worse, assumed they were incapable of deep understanding AND deep communication. Previously their mannerisms and forms of communication were so badly taken as incapacity, that it further blows me away the extent of freedom they're now realizing and it's beautiful!!! The founders of the technology deserve the highest level of acknowledgement for what they have done for these young adults who now have a tremendously HUGE future to experience.
